Operation Steeplechase

Operation Steeplechase was a military operation conducted by the Indian Army in 1971 against the Naxalites in the Red Corridor.

The operation was conducted in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha, which are known as the Red Corridor because of the large presence of Naxalites and Maoists in the region.

The operation was conducted in order to flush out the Naxalites and restore law and order in the region.

The operation was successful in containing the Naxalites and restoring law and order in the region. However, the Naxalites still remain a threat in the Red Corridor.
